Common Questions

What is the difference between Up Pull and Nex Push? — Up Pull (70–103cm) uses a pull-handle scoring action with a 12mm wheel — fast and intuitive for standard tiles. Nex Push (125–155cm) uses a push-handle action with a larger 16mm wheel and double suspension, designed for scoring thicker and harder large-format porcelain.

Should I get the 70cm or 84cm Up Pull? — If you mainly cut standard wall tiles and 300x300mm floor tiles, the 70cm is plenty. If you work with 600x600mm floor tiles and want to cut diagonals without a wet saw, go with the 84cm.

When do I need a Kera Cut instead of a Series 4? — The Kera Cut is specifically designed for thin (3–6mm) large-format slab tiles over 2 metres. Series 4 cutters handle standard-thickness tiles up to 155cm. Different tools for different materials.

Titanium or Tungsten scoring wheel? — Tungsten is the standard workhorse — reliable and cost-effective for everyday cutting. Titanium lasts longer on hard porcelain and delivers a finer score line. Most tilers keep both on hand.

Can Sigma cutters handle porcelain tiles? — Yes. All Series 4 cutters are designed for ceramics, porcelain, glass, and stone. For very hard porcelain, use a titanium scoring wheel for the cleanest cut.
