Installation Sealer for Pre-Sealing and Six Sided / Dip Sealing.

ULTRA-BLOCK – INSTALLATION SEALER FOR PRE-SEALING AND SIX SIDED SEALING.

Ultra-Block™ is an economical water based specialty sealer formulated for six sided, dip-sealing, underside & pre-grouting sealing. Helps resist staining caused by water soluble minerals (including picture framing effect) which are normally absorbed through the back of the stone during installation. It also helps resist ef orescence migration & adhesive blotch marks. Can also be used as a pre-grouting sealer. Allows moisture vapour transmission (MVT).

  Important Note

⠀TREAT THE SEALED UNDERSIDE SURFACE AS LOW POROSITY

⠀Ultra-Block™ will reduce the porosity of the underside sealed surface. Please contact your adhesive supplier or manufacturer for specifcation of the appropriate adhesive suitable for installing low porosity/dense surfaces. Sealed underside surface and substrate should be thoroughly wet out with the adhesive (back butter using the flat side of trowel) prior to applying adhesive with appropriate notch trowel to ensure proper coverage and adhesion. Follow adhesive manufacturer recommendation for the appropriate adhesive & ensure relevant Standards for stone & tile installation are followed.
Due to the nature of different surfaces, you should do several test areas in inconspicuous areas according to the label instructions to determine surface colour stability and desired results. The end user must determine the suitability of the product for their intended use.

⠀PRE-GROUT SEALING: 

1. Allows quick and easy clean-up after grouting as grout and adhesives may stain surfaces. 
2. Do⠀NOT⠀saturate the open grout joints; 
3. Allow minimum 24 hours cure time before grouting;
4. If using a dark or contrasting grout, before grouting apply⠀Grout Release Pro after⠀Ultra-Block⠀has cured.

⠀PREPARATION OF SURFACE:⠀

Use⠀XtremeClean⠀as per label instructions to clean and prepare the surface to be sealed.

⠀APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS – PRE-SEALING:

1. Apply sealer to clean, dry surface using a sealer applicator, pump sprayer, sealer sponge, brush, paint roller or paint pad;
2. Ensure even coat & coverage then work product in thoroughly;
3. After 5-10 minutes, wipe the surface⠀COMPLETELY DRY⠀with absorbent paper or cotton towels to remove any excess;
   4.⠀DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO DRY ON THE SURFACE;
4. Repeat this process for each application;
5. Allow to cure min 24 hours before installation or grouting;

⠀APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS – DIP SEALING:

1. Fill a clean tray with⠀Ultra-Block and fully submerge stone or tile for 30 – 60 seconds;
2. After 5-10 minutes, wipe the surface⠀COMPLETELY DRY⠀with absorbent paper or cotton towels to remove any excess sealer; 
   3.⠀DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO DRY ON THE SURFACE; 
3. If sealing prior to installation, lean sealed stone vertically against wall. Place a plastic wedge or spacer between each stone so stone pieces are not touching, allowing a gap of 5-10cm between each stone for air circulation & proper curing.
4. Allow to cure min 24 hours before installation or grouting;
5. After the 24 hours and before installation, scrub back surface of stone with a white nylon pad or brush to remove any sealer residue
