Stellmann Primer is a water-based, single-component acrylic primer and sealer used before Stellmann Non-Slip Clear PRO and Stellmann Stair Nosing Coating, and with Stellmann Aqualine PU PRO on surfaces other than bare concrete. It optimises adhesion to a wide range of surfaces, and at lower dilution rates also stabilises friable surfaces and binds loose particles.
Stellmann coating kits already include the required amount of primer — this pack is for extra coverage, complex surfaces or additional areas found during installation.

â €Application
- Clean with Stellmann Prep and Maintenance Cleaner, rinse until all foaming stops and allow the surface to dry thoroughly.
- Stir or shake, then dilute 1:1 with water. Small areas (under 15 m²): apply a thin layer with a sponge or microfibre cloth. Large areas: use a flat microfibre mop.
- Avoid puddling and skinning. Wear shoe covers on primed surfaces — footprints will show through the clear coating.
- Do not clean the surface with detergents after priming. Apply the Stellmann coating once the primer has dried (slightly tacky but dry).
â €Limitations
- Do not use on substrates at risk of rising damp, or when rain threatens.
- Does not adhere to oil-based sealers and stains, some solvent-based sealers and coatings, or nano-treated surfaces.
