Stellmann Stair Nosing Coating Traffic Yellow – 900ml Kit

Stellmann Stair Nosing Coating is a coloured, water-based, dual-component polyurethane coating formulated to reduce the risk of slipping and tripping on stairs. Rolled onto the tread as a high-visibility nosing strip, it can also be used as a premium demarcation coating on tiles, natural stone and concrete — and on metal when sanded before application. It is supplied with Stellmann Primer and carries a P4 slip rating under AS 4586.

⠀Suitable Surfaces

Concrete, porcelain and ceramic tiles, natural stone including marble and travertine, vinyl, glass, and metal (sanded before application) — over Stellmann Primer.

⠀Technical Data

⠀Application

• Surfaces must be clean, dry (less than 3% moisture) and sound. New concrete must cure for at least 28 days; prepare concrete by grinding, blasting or etching.
• For stair nosings, the strip should cover the full width of the tread and be at least 50 mm but not more than 75 mm wide, as per AS 1428.1:2009. Mark out with a chalk line and Stellmann masking tape.
• Apply Stellmann Primer diluted 1:1 with water as a thin film with a sponge or microfibre cloth. Curing time is approx. 30 minutes.
• Mix Part A and Part B at 5 : 1 by weight on an electronic precision scale, then roll on an even coat with the supplied Stellmann PRO roller — do not apply by brush.
• Light colours over dark substrates, or porous substrates, may need a second coat — allow the first to dry for 120 minutes.

⠀Limitations

• Do not apply when rain threatens, or when relative humidity is (or is likely to go) above 80%.
• Do not apply a thick layer — a wet film above approx. 100 μm can cause CO₂ bubbles.
• Not recommended for permanently immersed exposure, or where acid or alkali splash or spillage may occur.
