Common Questions
Should I use MN Stain-Stop or KF Stain-Stop? — MN Stain-Stop is solvent-based for natural and artificial stone. KF Stain-Stop is water-based, made for porcelain and ceramic tiles. Match the product to the substrate.
What's the difference between MN Stain-Stop and MN Stain-Stop ECO? — Same protection level, different carrier. ECO is water-based with lower VOCs — better for indoor jobs, limestone, and where solvent odour matters. Standard MN Stain-Stop has a longer outdoor track record.
How much does MN Stain-Stop cover? — Roughly 7–15 m²/L on typical natural stone. Polished surfaces go further (up to 25 m²/L), rough or porous stone less (5–7 m²/L). Always check the datasheet for your stone type.
Can I use MN Builders' Clean on polished marble? — No. It's acid-based and will etch polished marble and limestone. Use it on granite, quartzite, rough limestone and similar acid-resistant stones only.
Do I need MN Colour Intensifier or MN Stain-Stop? — Stain-Stop seals without changing the look. Colour Intensifier seals AND darkens/enhances the stone's natural colour — choose based on whether you want the wet-look finish.
What's the best sealer for a stone kitchen benchtop? — NanoTOP is purpose-designed for benchtops and vanities with a food-safe finish. MN Stain-Stop also works well for general benchtop sealing.
