Closed Cell polyethylene backing rod for use in conjunction with Tremco sealants and membranes.
Usage/Purpose
Tremco’s Closed Cell Backing Rod is designed to be used in conjunction with Tremco’s sealants. It provides a highly durable bond-breaker to prevent 3-sided adhesion, which would otherwise reduce the sealant’s functional elasticity. Closed Cell Backing Rod can be used for vertical joints, but is ideal for horizontal joints, commonly found in floor slabs and floor to wall junctions, as it reduces ground moisture from rising and causing blisters in the sealant during cure.
