WSS Megaswell 1020X - Hydrophilic Bentonite Polymer Waterstop

Megaswell 1020X is a hydrophilic bentonite waterstop strip designed to seal construction joints in concrete structures. Manufactured from premium sodium bentonite and polymer rubber, the strip expands upon contact with water to form an active seal that blocks water ingress through non-moving construction joints.

Composition & Packaging

Hydrophilic sodium bentonite combined with synthetic polymer rubber
Standard profile: 10mm × 20mm

Installation Guidelines

Ensure the substrate is sound, clean, and free from dust, laitance, oil, and loose material
Position Megaswell 1020X centrally within the concrete joint with a minimum 50mm concrete cover
Fix in place using Megatape Double Sided Butyl, Sealproof SMP or concrete nails at regular intervals
Butt-join strip ends tightly to maintain continuity. Do not overlap unless specifically approved
Protect from premature contact with water prior to concrete placement
Pour concrete carefully to avoid displacement

Hydrostatic Pressure Resistance: 1.2 MPa
Heat Resistance: No flow at 80°C
Low Temperature: No crack at -20°C

Limitations

Intended for non-moving construction joints only
Must not be exposed to standing water before concrete placement
Not suitable for expansion joints
Must be surrounded by at least 50mm of concrete on all sides

Storage and Shelf Life

Store in original packaging in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months when stored correctly.
